Its about time!

So I finished the Christmas Strip Twist Quilt on Tuesday night. To explain the delay in its reveal... since then, every night when I got home from work it's been unseasonably dark, and the photos that I've been wanting to take to show you came out really bad. So this morning, when I couldnt sleep, I got up early and finished all my chores, then went outside to see if there was any sun. No dice on the sun front I'm afraid, but at least there was daylight.

Here it is:

Isn't it puuuuurty? :-)

I was a little worried that the back ended up looking like a sleeping bag, you know those horrible nylon ones with the big chunky metal zips, circa 1986! But N has assured me that it doesn't. I went for something a bit different with the straight line quilting this time. Originally, I started with just the diagonals, and did a quater inch line down either side. This looked really good, but it wasnt quite quilted enough for my liking. I then went on to sew concentric squares in the main blocks.

The Moda Fruitcake was so cute! Just the right mix of contemporary and traditional prints, with a few little funny ones thrown in. Snowmen anyone?

I'm pretty pleased with how its turned out and can't wait to use it on Christmas eve, whilst drinking hot chocolate, snuggled up wtih N watching christmas movies. Gosh I love Christmas!

On a completely unrelated note, I would just like to thank you all for your comments and interest in my blog/life. It means so much to me that you would all take time out of your lives to share something with me. As I'm sure you all do similarly, I love reading your comments.

I'd also like to say an extra big thankyou to Dina, over at Five Cats from Crazy. I've been reading her blog for a while, and she had a giveaway last week. I was lucky enough to be selected to received one of her amazing knitted wire bracelets. What a lucky girl I am!!! So if you've got a spare 5 minutes, pop over and say Hi to Dina. Shes a really lovely lady, and she has 5 cats! A woman after my own heart!  ♥♥♥

  1. That quilt is so nice. I love what you did with the quilting on the back. It has just as much interest as the top itself.

  2. That quilt is really lovely. I don't think the back looks like a sleeping bag at all.

Dina from Five Cats really is a lovely person. I enjoy reading her posts.

Thanks for dropping by - I love to hear what you think, so please leave me a comment!
