A break from our usual transmission...

The usual, for the last week or so, being nothing.

My apologies! It's just been so busy in Laura-Land recently.

But I am headed off on holiday next week and do a have a few things up my sleeve that I'd like to share with you.

Firstly, I made a matching purple pillow buddy.

I kinda just took the purple and orange theme and ran with it, also taking inspiration for the layout and hand quilting from this lovely tutorial. Don't they look cute together?

Second, I bought some yarn!! (Rowan Tweed DK)

I've been feeling the slight shift in seasons and am blissfully looking forward to fall (autumn) when I can knit away to my hearts content. I hope so at least! These 2 little lovelies will be coming away with me to the lovely little town of Bideford next week. And hopefully, they will knit up into something resembling this. This is how far I got last night:

Thirdly, the quilt. It is looking soooooooo much better than it did. I might even love it again. Thank you all seriously loads and loads for the comments and helpful tips. The dylon colour run remover stuff arrived no less than 2 and a half weeks after I ordered it. Bad amazon. Very bad. Yesterday I ran the quilt through the washing machine 3 times, using 2 sachet's each time.

I think it could benefit from one more run, but it is looking really really good now. The colour has all but gone from the innocent crush prints, only a few of the lighter ones have a little tint. And the very light pink sashing? I don't mind a bit! It's also developed such a soft and squishy feel, I should ruin my quilts more often! (Jokes!).

Now, the fourth and final thing to share with you might be a little more exciting. I don't know if you are aware, but in the next week or so its my 1 year blogiversary! It seems quite fitting actually that my second ever blog post was featuring my holiday in Bideford last year, and here I am about to set of for the very same place again!

A lot has happened in the last year and I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of it. I've met some really great blogging buddies, taken part in some amazing bee's and swaps, improved my skills, and had so much FUN doing all of it!

So to say thank you for following with me along the way, there will be a little payback giveaway sponsored by one of my most favouritest fabric stores, Moona Fabrics

I'm so excited!!!

Have a lovely holiday, hope the sun comes back, there is nothing worse than soggy sheep, so soggy knitting must be the same!

  2. I think the quilt looks like one you have loved and used and cherished for years now. Like that look. Glad it has come back from the land of the soggy dead to being loved again. Enjoy Bideford while we enjoy the IoW. May the sun shine on both of us. :-)

  9. I was just wondering if your quilt was still in the bath - I'm so glad the run remover worked but two and half weeks is stupidly slow, especially for Amazon. The cushions look wonderful together - love the hedgehogs! Have a good holiday!

  10. I was wondering about that beautiful quilt - if it learned to love it's new pinkness or if you were able to get it back to it's white origins. I'm so happy to hear that you may actually like it again - it is a gorgeous piece of work.

Have a wonderful holiday and I can't wait to see how your wrap turns out.

  17. Oh my giddy aunt what a drama - this one passed me by totally and I could have wept when I saw the red version of the quilt but the pale pink version is gorgeous - pale pink is the new white sashing. It all started with Laura's quilt. Phew
