I had romantic notions of Christmas tree's this year. I was going to pick the tree that nobody wanted. The sad little tree that caught nobody's eye. This is quite unlike me, as I'm usually a tree perfectionist. I like the tall and skinny type, with strong branches, and lots of room between the layers to hang ornaments (like the one I had last year).
I faltered, on the walk to the tree place, and decided that actually, I did want a nice tree. Nobody wants those ones for a reason right?! As it turns out, it was Hobson's choice anyway. There was only one tree left...
And so I named him Stumpy, and he became mine.
I wasn't too sure about stumpy when me and the bestie carried him home. Nor when he was standing there, a little naked, in my house. But after watching Christmas movies (Elf and The Family Stone) to get us in the mood, decorating him to within an inch of his life, and drinking a considerable amount of wine, I think I might be persuaded. Wonky star and all.

Luna and Beaks have already taken half the lower ornaments and scattered them around the house. But when they look like this, I can't help but forgive them :-)

The quilt we're all snuggling under is my Christmas Strip Twist, from last year. I love it, but its a little small for me + the best friend + 2 cats. I might make a new one ready for next year!

So cute Laura, I have to make do with a laptop to keep me warm!
ReplyDeleteps. I photo shop my pictures when its gloomy!
Hehehe I really should get round to finishing the one that me and Ellie are curled up in...

Stumpy looks much more ready for Xmas than ours - not even posted, not worth a post. Love your quilt!
ReplyDeleteYour tree looks fantastic! I personally like the shorter fuller trees.
ReplyDeleteYour cats look comfy all curled up...it has been chilly the last few days so I'm sure they have been seeking out the warmest spots. :o)

Gorgeous tree Laura! It looks like I will around the middle after eating my way through the festive season!! Gorgeous kitty cats too, I love how cats swipe at the decorations and it's hilarious when they try to climb the tree! Enjoy x
ReplyDeleteI love stumpy. He needed a home for Christmas and you provided him with that as well as 2 cats to play with : )
ReplyDeleteStumpy looks happy! So you should be too!
ReplyDeleteAww I think he's a great tree.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm glad to hear that someone else has a tree where only the top half is decorated. my cats have removed the decorations, tinsel and an entire string of lights from the bottom half of our tree. only the fact that it is 8ft tall has meant that any of it is still intact!
