Not a whole lot of sewing went down this month, I was mostly working on Paula's quilt, which I rambled on about here.

I also went on a photography course, and took some fairly nice (if I do say so myself) pics of the countryside.
I made my granny a little Android tablet pouch thingy, and went a bit OTT with the perle. But I liked it anyway!
I placed my first order with Zipit, and reveled in the rainbow colours just a little bit too much.
I decided on a design for the Mouthy Stitches swap, now I just need to see if I can realize it. A 6" swoon block?! Am I mad??
And finally, or initially, depends how you look at it, I did my first successful bit of hand piecing and created a rose star. This will become a pillow/cushion soon for a birthday pressie. I'm thinking a linen background, and maybe some cerise or orange piping?
Make sure to check out what everyone else has been upto! Some in particular, have been super over achievers this month ;-)
(Jealous? Moi? Of course not...)

Wow, Laura, I so love that quilt. It's just wonderful, I love colors, blocks, layout, everything. Lucky Paula! Your pictures and other projects are great, too.
ReplyDeletePaula's quilt is really beautiful:)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing that mini swoon block! Great mosaic and your photos are fab!
ReplyDeleteYour quilts are so lovely. Nothing says HOME like a quilt. I tried my hand at a few some years ago and really enjoyed it but am so much better with yarn, hooks & knitting needles! I admire your talent. HAPPY STITCHING!
ReplyDeleteROFL I knew who you meant before I looked at the link... I'm not jealous either... lol You did a fabulous job on that sampler quilt, and what a great idea to use the rose block as a cushion cover. And cant wait to see the 6" swoon... nutter....
ReplyDeleteIf you can conquer a 6" swoon you can conquer anything! Jxo
ReplyDeleteI love Paula's quilt and I think your countryside pics are great! Oh I can't wait to see a 6" swoon block. That would be nuts!
ReplyDeleteLovely stuff! The sewing and the photography. Did you take the picture of the zippers?
ReplyDeleteOooh so many lovelies. I most definitely have not even been an achiever this month so no link up for me lol
ReplyDeleteI love the tree pic, it looks very professional. We obviously have different standards of "not much sewing" too - this looks like you've been very busy!
ReplyDeleteUse that iron-on method for the HSTs - can't go wrong!
ReplyDeleteWow - you did tonnes of lovely stuff this month x
ReplyDeleteI will be haunting your blog getting ideas for a teeny tiny quilt I want to make for my 4 poster bed for my dollhouse. It will be my first quilt!! Altho it will only be 5x6 inches in size! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteWell done!
ReplyDeleteJust love the rose star, haven't gotten round to it yet. Your colours are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely makes! I cannot wait to see the teeny tiny Swoon block.
ReplyDeleteA 6" Swoon you say, are you quite mad?!
