I spent my Saturday sewing. Like, ALL day. I didn't leave the house once. It was bliss!
The morning was spent cutting these:
Then I started sewing them back together. After a mega long chain-piecing session I realized I had sewn approximately 120 pieces together completely wrong. I wont re-hash it here for fear of ruining my squeaky clean reputation ;-) But you can go ahead and imagine the expletives I chose for the situation.
I got them all un-sewed, and sewed back together, ruining my will to live in the process. Then gave up, as I probably should have done much earlier in the day, admitted that half the blocks would have to do, and watched some Criminal Minds. Do I sound like a broken record yet? I just love that show so much!
Sunday morning, I had a spare couple of hours before I was due out and about for the day. I managed to get the second half of the blocks entirely pieced and pressed in that time! It was soooo much better than Saturday! Most of my points were pretty perfect, like this one:
But there were a couple of atrocious ones... like this one:
I did actually re-sew this one after taking the picture... I'm not that bad.
I couldn't resist doing a quick layout test before I headed out the door... what do you think?
I'm hoping to piece the top next weekend, or maybe during the evenings this week if I can't wait that long.
Have you seen Elizabeth's latest quilt? I've been wanting to branch out with my quilting for a while, so I think I'm gonna quilt this one in the same kind of baptist fan pattern. Do you think it will suit this quilt or is it too busy a pattern? I'm not sure...
