I was pretty much dreading this month; for some crazy reason Jennie wanted pictures of our ugly mug's on her quilt! Mental right? She offered up the artist Luke Haynes as inspiration:
And asked that we create a likeness of ourselves, out of fabric, with a background that represented something about us.
I chose this as my inspiration picture, its one of my favourites of me. I was at a festival last summer, and if I do say so myself, I'm totally rocking the pear cider :-)
I used picnik to posterize the photo into 2 colours like so:

| This wasnt the version I ended up using, but you get the general idea... |
I was going to recreate the whole image, pear cider and all, but I thought Jennie might not want that on her quite for like, ever. So I took some artistic license and created a festival scene instead!
I cut the little pieces out of some Beach Mod fabric, don't they work well?!
I'm particularly pleased with how my T-Shirt worked out. Gotta love those stripes! And I'm loving that green grass, one of my new purchases, Lush- Running Stitch by Patti Young.
The only part I'm not so keen on is the fried egg. I mean, the Sun. I needed something to break up all that sky, and I thought, Tailors Tape fabric on a hexie? That will work a treat. Turns out... not so much.

I think it all looks absolutely fabulous, fried egg an all.
