I love Mothers Day. Gives me an excuse to make my Mom some more crap :-) She loves it really, I'm sure.
My main "gift" to her (although my sister and I sure benefited too!) was a traditional English afternoon tea party... cucumber sandwiches and quiche aplenty!
It was a lovely day, we chatted, played board games, and drank tea till it came out our ears.

| These were quite possibly the largest strawberries I have ever seen. |
I also made her this little teapot mat/mug rug/pot holder. I used a layer of cotton batting, and a layer of insulbright in the middle, so it should be nice and protective.
I love this block. Its from Lee's tutorial, Hexing Around. I was going to square it up, but then I fancied the challenge of binding a hexagon... (FYI, its not as hard as it first seems!).
For Paula, I made this brush roll. She's just started a painting class, so I thought it might be useful to keep them all together.
I didn't use a pattern for this, nor did I have a paintbrush I could test the height on, so I guesstimated with knitting needles as best I could and hoped it would turn out alright. Isn't the teapot fabric cute? Perfect for Moms!

Your Sunday tea party looks very civilised! I am sure that your Mum enjoyed her day. Di xo
