On Saturday, there was some hand stitching of my new quilt labels.
This is now affixed to the back of my Hello Sailor quilt, which lives with my bestie :-)
On Sunday morning, blissfully ignorant of the awful thing*, I started on my Brit Bee block for this month. The fabulous Ceri is queen bee for March, and she wanted paper pieced food.
This was my first foray into the freezer paper technique, and, whilst crazy time consuming, I think I like it better than foundation piecing!
Then there were 2...
And there will be 2 more, maybe tonight! Question: How many times can you use freezer paper pieces before they loose their sticky?
I had intended to go to Ikea Sunday afternoon for a fabric and cake plates and plastic tubs. And meatballs! Unfortunately the bestie I mentioned above had a nasty run in with some glass. So we set off for A&E instead. It was then I discovered the awful thing*.
After patching her up, and taking her home, I finished the day relaxing in the sun with Walter, and wine. So, 2 bad thing, 3 good things. Can't really complain ;-)
* My car got broken into. The stole my satnav, my old and sentimental leather jacket, and my favouritest coat in the entire world. I am not at all pleased.

Lovely quilt and the freezer paper technique looks compllicated. I am really sorry about your car - hassle and heartbreak all round. Your cat looks relaxed! Di xo
ReplyDeleteGood for you, for your sunny attitude in finding more good parts to the weekend than bad parts. Sorry to hear about your car, but love your red quilt. Your furry friend is awfully cute too!
ReplyDeleteBastards ! I had also had my favorite leather Jacket stolen...... I know how it feels.
ReplyDeleteOh LJ, that's rotten! So sorry to hear about your car, and your friend. I hope your friend is doing ok, and that you can get some sort of compensation for your car and precious things! Jxo
ReplyDeletei can still feel the rage after 10years and reading your awful thing i really feel for you ...........though i thought it was going to be cat related...phew .
ReplyDeletelove the apples
Oh Lolly! What a f-ing nightmare! Hope you are OK, and friend is OK, and IKEA will always be there another day xxx
ReplyDeleteGreat peppers! (She says hoping to God they are peppers not apples!) xxx
Oh boo! That`s just horrible. So sorry about the car and hope your friend is okay now. Walter is adorable. Sending a virtual hug. x
ReplyDeleteOh no, that is awful! I'm so sorry. Like the labels though.
ReplyDeleteOh no, how awful! Are you now wrangling with the insurance company? I love your peppers (I've re-used FP at least a dozen times before it's started to lose its sticky!). I hope your friend is ok and that you make it to IKEA another day!
ReplyDeleteLoving your peppers and your quilt. I am not a big fan of red/white - red/black combo's but you always make them work so well! Nightmare about the car. B****ds.
ReplyDeleteI hate that your car got broken into!!! That is terrible! I really hope whoever it was feels so bad they bring your stuff back!!!
ReplyDeleteI adore (read: covet) your labels!!! They are so very clever! Where did you have them printed?
Oh, sorry about the break-in. That would definitely spoil my weekend. I like all your crafty things you accomplished, very pretty.
ReplyDeleteOh Laulli, that's terrible, been there, feel your pain X Glad you had some good karma too :) Hope the bestie is ok
ReplyDeleteLove the peppers and wish a horrible STD on the car breaker inners!
ReplyDeleteBroken into car sucks. Stolen jacket suck so much it blows too!
ReplyDeletePeppers are looking fabulous dahling :-) As are labels, hope bestie is okay and happily snuggling with sailors.... lol
oh boy that's some weekend to cope with. Hope your bestie is ok and that the car breakers come to a sticky end.
ReplyDeleteI'm slightly scared by the freezer paper method of PP, gives me brain freeze looking at all the pieces laid out but you've done a great job. love the quilt and labels too.
I absolutely hate that those wieners broke into your car and stole your stuff, but I must say that judging by the reactions here I would hate to do anything bad to these ladies! Especially Kelly. They definitely have your back! Hope this week goes a bit better for you!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that your car got broken into and that your friend had to go to Emergency (I didn't realize that in the UK it was called the A&E). I hope this week ends on a happier note!
ReplyDeleteThe labels are so cute! Where did you get them? The quilt looks amazing! Another lady from a blog had her car broken into too!!
ReplyDeleteBoo that big bad really sucks!
ReplyDelete**waaaappppppoooooooowwww
That's me "accidentally" smacking the naughty people with my stealth quilting ruler. Hopefully it will knock some sense into them and they'll find a way to return your stuff....
Oh man, that's rubbish, about the car I mean, not my peppers, because they are FAB-U-LOUS!!!! Thanks so much for being patient and doing them, because they are gonna look sooooper on my wall! I really am sorry about the car thing, why do people take the irreplacable things like special coats? GGrrrrrrr x
ReplyDeleteEverything does look wonderful!! I am so sorry to hear about your bad news, how scary!!
ReplyDeletePants about your car. It happened to me and I know how got at it makes you feel. Perhaps the perpetrator will get struck by lightning.
ReplyDeleteI love your labels, your finishes are perfect and your Sunday still sucked. Sorry about the break-in. Mean people suck!
ReplyDeleteBastards! Hate people who think that stealing other people's things is an acceptable way to live their lives. They need smacking - hard - and then some!!
ReplyDeletehorrid - sorry that you had to go through that. Love your red quilt, it looks amazing
ReplyDeleteLove the peppers, but oh man, sorry about the car! Mine got broken into when I was at uni one night. They obviously hadn't realised it belonged to an impoverished student, because having failed to try and prise out my superglued in radio/cassette player, the only things they could find to steal was my 2 Snoopy air fresheners... it made me irrationally nervous about buying more air fresheners for a while after that
ReplyDeleteI'm with Kelly. Wishing all kinds of awful things on people who do that. Our car was broken into years ago and I'm still annoyed by it.
ReplyDeleteYour peppers are lovely though. And I want a kitty, just so I can take relaxed pictures of it.
Where did you get those awesome quilt labels? They are exactly what I'm looking for!
Oh Laura, just catching up, so sorry to hear about the car and your poor friend! Hope things have improved now.x
