Quietly Stitching

I've had very little motivation, of late, to break out the sewing machine and actually sew. This troubles me on a few levels because I have many things that need sewing. Instead, Ive been feeling the pull of embroidery. I've been whiling away a good few hours watching movies and stitching up a storm. And you know what? Its been brilliant :o)

After being emboldened by Aneela's class at the Fat Quarterly Retreat I thought I'd break open my copy of Doodle Stitching and start a project.

And then I was hooked. I couldn't stop stitching!

And then I had a finished bag.... Which is actually the goody bag from the retreat!

How cute is that???? I'm actually a little bit in love with it.

After I deemed Saturday as a "do nothing day", I needed another project. I shouldn't really be showing this till after Wednesday but silly me already uploaded the pics to flickr, so... what the heck right?

A little stitching for a lovely friend :o)

Its for my friend Mandy, because she's lovely. And it was her birthday last week.

And really, what more reason do you need for an embroidered Mr Rabbit?

That floofy tail makes my heart sing a little bit.

I think a few more stitchy animal things will be in my future. Maybe one with cats :o)

  2. Loving the stitchy loveliness. I joked to Katy that before the week was out there would be customised FQR retreat bags like they do after sewing summit.

  15. I have been eyeing up all my old x-stitch patterns today and then looking at my goodie bag and then across to my Doodle Stitching book ... it could all be about to go a little stitchy crazy round here I think.
