Knitting Again

I started knitting again this week. Yey! I wonder, do I have any knitty followers left? It has definitely taken a back seat this last year.

I think the Typical English Summer (read - its been raining for 3 months solid) combined with a few really busy weeks at work has left me wanting to veg out and not do much in the evenings. Que the Stripe Study Shawl (rav link). Simple, beautiful, interestingly shaped.

I happen to have the perfect yarn for it too. In the perfect colours. Utter gorgeousness. Silky smooth, bouncy, totally squishable and as soft as anything :o) Its Mini Mochi by Crystal Palace Yarns, which the lovely peeps at Hantex sent for my squishing pleasure. You can check your nearest stockist here on their website.

I've been zipping along the last couple of evenings and have got this far already (5 repeats done out of 11).

I love the uber subtle variation in the red. It has such smooth transitions of colour...

Its all garter stitch so it goes pretty quickly; the short-rows are a little puzzling to begin with, but I'm starting to get it. I'm really hoping I don't get bored because I cannot wait to wear this (probably sooner than later if the weather keeps up...), its going to be so soft and smooooooshy!

  11. I've just started knitting and would love to see what you're making. I'm doing a SUPER simple scarf just to get the hang of how it works. Really, I knit 20-25 rows, rip them out, do them again, etc until my brain catches up with the project. Give me a little hope that it gets better :)
